Tine Dairy News Fall 2008

After browsing Tine's website I must say there are now more reasons than ever before to get back home asap.  I'm a huge fan of all milk based drinks and have loved Tine Iskaffe since they first came out. This fall they are introducing my favorite of them all: the cappuccino, in a light version with 30 % fewer calories. Yes! In addition to that there is a totally new flavor out and that is the Tine Iskaffe with dark chocolate.. The Tine Lett Creme Fraiche now comes in a pesto and a champignon flavor. Can't wait to start cooking!

Updates

The past week or so I have not been updating my blog due to lack of time. Right now I'm in the middle of signing up for classes and deciding where I will spend the next semester. 

Tears of the Giraffe

Being sick and all I was able to finish the second book in The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, Tears of the Giraffe. I truly love this series and I can't wait to get my hands on Morality for Beautiful Girls. The second book was totally independent of the pilot episode and it went deeper into the relationship between Mma Ramotswe and Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni. Since the NYPL carries all of the published editions it's fun seeing how the cover art varies, I think so far this must be my favorite. 

Batman - The Dark Knight Trailer

We went to the movies this past saturday to catch the new Batman flick. I absolutely loved it. I'm not a huge Batman fan but this one was very dark and really touched me. Ledgers performance was magnificent and it was nice to see Bale back on the big screen. Unfortunately the sound was off and did not come on until 10 min or so into the movie, which resulted in us getting two re-admit passes.

Since we have a membership to AMC Lowes we try to go to their cinemas usually and it does pay off. Several times I have gotten a free small popcorn or coupons for free drinks, candy etc. The other thing that is great about AMC Lowes is that on fridays, saturdays and sundays they offer 50% discount prices on their matinees.

10 days of bliss

Early this morning the cat lady went off to Japan. She will be gone for 10 days and it will surely be a welcoming break for us all. She gets to dive into her zen interests and we get the house to our selves. Hopefully within the next few days out friend will take us down to Fairway's for some serious shopping. Other than that nothing much will be going on. Feeding the 3 cats twice a day, play and cuddle time and trying out some new dinner recipes. Earlier today I was also able to finish the first book in The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency- series. I can't wait to get started on the next one, Tears of the Giraffe. 

iPhone problems

We lined up last friday and were able to get a hold of two iPhones, one black and one white. I chose the black one. Pus had a bit of a problem with his so he returned it for a new one at the fifth ave store. Unfortunately the one they gave him there also was not quite right, so tomorrow he will go back to get a third one. The camera seems pretty decent for simple snap shots but I have not been able to figure out how to post pictures from the iphone on my blog. Otherwise I'm totally loving it! Downloading applications, listening to music, watching videos, surfing the web.. my only complaint is the sms-ing. I find it really difficult to type on it. At this point in time I'm only able to use my index finger to type and it's a real hassle. 

New craft book and button

                

I found these guys online and I think they are just adorable. The book is originally in japanese but from what I can understand it's been translated into english. I have never tried this technique before, but as I advance I most likely will at some point. The fox button is from a japanese company called Kokka Fabrics, they have lots of different animal designs, but since I love foxes I had to post this one. 

The latest

Nothing much is going on these days and I have not been updating the blog for a week or so. Since last I have spent my time with the cats, gone to see Takashi Murakami at the Brooklyn Museum, read half of The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and had dinner with a friend. With all this time on my hands I have decided to read the books I were not able to finish this past semester and hopefully get a head start on the new reading list for fall 08. Thank God for the NYPL, if it had not been for them hundreds of dollars would be gone by now.

Soon the The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency Tv-series will start up on BBC and HBO. I was able to watch the first episode during easter and I have been waiting in anticipation for the series to start.

More about the Shake Shack..

I love the Shake Shack even though I have only been there a few times due to the excessively long line. They open at 11.00 in the morning and when I went there the other day at 11.30 a line had already formed and I was in for an hour long wait. According to their website they are opening up a second location further uptown at 77th st and Columbus Ave. And I got some insider news! I know exactly where they are opening up. Shake Shack will most likely take over the open space left by the Creole Restaurant across from AMNH. I'm really excited.. the restaurant options in the area (UWS) are pretty good, but having been going there the past 2 1/2 years a new edition will be nice.
